The
poet Rumi wrote:
Gamble everything for love.
Half-heartedness doesn't reach into majesty
You set out to find God,
But then you keep stopping for long periods
at mean-spirited roadhouses.
Both writers knew the importance of mastering the art of love first for self, without compromise, and then with another. When you master the art of self-love you will never settle for the difference in making an attempt at love either toward yourself or toward another.
When you master the art of love you will come face to face with the truth of Who You Are and what you are capable of giving and receiving in your lifetime. It is doubtful that you will settle for the brass ring, rather than the ring of gold.
But where do I find the tools to master the art of love, you might ask? Certainly not through my words, or merely your contemplation of my words. It awaits you through your fully open-heart without restraints and without fear of vulnerability.
Vulnerability is your strength. Without it you sever your relationship to fascination, potential, wonder, mystical and magical experiences, pure delight, grace and joy. Are you willing to live with that handicap? Are you willing to settle for half-heartedness that never reaches majesty? Are you willing to exchange ecstasy for safety? Are you willing to settle for never knowing the transformational power of love that will change every thought you ever held about yourself or another?
I offer you this key to contemplate. You are love. Love is who you are. It is your original and only identity. You were first born from the seeds of the Creators love and as an offspring of Original Creation the only thing you can be is love. You are not any identity other than Love in the form of a human being, having relationships and experiences that do not define you. Knowing this will help you understand that mastering the art of love is your life's purpose, for what else is there to do but to become the full expression of Who You Are. The quality of your life depends upon you and no other. The ability to love and be loved depends upon you, and no other.
You being fully expressed as the love that you are means that you never have to seek worthiness through another. You will know for yourself the value of who you are.
You being fully expressed as the love that you are means there is nothing more you have to strive for, since there is nothing greater to be.
You being fully expressed as the love that you are creates a magnet for others to enter your life who are open to giving love and receiving love.
You being fully expressed as the love that you are grants you the power to immediately rise above all personal despair and ascend beyond the limited belief system of the mortal mind.
Your open-heart is the pathway to expressing your love both to yourself and all others. Learn to carry yourself to it as quickly as you carry yourself to your mind. Consider speaking the following prayer to prepare your heart for your arrival.
Beloved
heart of mine, the portal to All That Is,
I enter into you humbly, shedding all pretense, illusion, and judgments.
I Am coming to be restored and renewed and return to the Love that I AM.
I have come to inherit the wisdom placed within you for me.
I fear nothing as I seek guidance in you.

This came to me through my friend John Thompson. Though I attempted to find the author, he or she did not show up. So to the one that wrote this originally, a big thank you!
Tech Support: How can I help you?
Customer: Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?
Tech Support: Yes, I can help you. The first step is to open your heart. Have you located your heart?
Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it ok to install Love while they are running?
Tech Support: What programs are running?
Customer: Let's see. I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.
Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your memory, but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?
Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?
Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.
Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?
Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.
Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error, program not run on external components. What should I do?
Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.
Customer: So what should I do?
Tech
Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance, then click on the following files:
Forgive-Self, and Realize Your Worth.
Customer: Ok, it's done.
Tech Support: Now copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will override any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.
Customer: Got it. Wow, my heart is filling up with new files. Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is that normal?
Tech Support: For some it is, for others it may take a little while. So Love is now installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and it's various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some great modules back to you.
Customer: Thank you God.

A few months ago I had the great pleasure to meet two wonderful, fully open-hearted angels. Their names, Brenda Michaels and Rob Spears. Their job while on the Earth plane, is bringing love and conscious talk through the radio air waves. Their reputation proceeded them as being two of the most conscious radio hosts in the country, which was precisely why I desired to be a guest on their show.
Upon first talking with them something powerful began to occur between us. Love was streaming through all three of our hearts as though we had been in each other's lives for many years. (No doubt we have been.) After our very first conversation they asked me if I'd like to come to Seattle and stay at their home and then do the interview live. (This was not a condition to be on their radio show.) I heard myself say ok.
This was odd for a couple of reasons. First, having done dozens and dozens of radio shows nationwide I knew I could easily do any one of them from the comfort of my home (between speaking engagements), since I savored my "at home" time. Second I never, and I sincerely mean never, stay at people's homes when I travel. I enjoy having my own space and not feel like I am invading another's.
That said, off I flew (guided by Spirit) to Seattle where "Conscious Talk Radio" is based, though they travel through the airwaves to San Franscisco. There they were to meet me with open arms and bright Light shining from their hearts and eyes. I spent the next day and a half in the company of two people dedicated to bringing great news backed with a lot of heart to mass consciousness.
It is rare, that we get the opportunity to listen to a conscious radio show, and I wanted to share the Great News that this show exists, and can be heard by everyone at any time. Though they air live in Seattle Monday-Friday 7-8am, they also stream live on the Internet at www.conscioustalk.net and have archives you can listen to at any time.

Q. Maureen, I am a loving person, but the men I attract never turn out to be the loving partner I long for. Why is this?
A. You must dig deep for that answer dear heart. You can only attract to you that which you are. See where the men that you attract, parallel the patterns that only you in the depths of your being know are patterns that you currently hold within you.
If he is emotionally unavailable, notice where you are emotionally unavailable. If he does not nurture you, notice where you do not nurture you. If he does not honor you, notice where you do not honor you. Do you see?
One can only draw to themselves the reciprocal of who they are. If you don't celebrate the wonder and majesty of who you are, others will not either. Marianne Williamson once said, "relationships are a hospital for the soul." As long as you don't set up circumstances that diminish you, perhaps you can take the relationships you have and heal yourself as a result of them.
